Ive been many things in my life: actor, filmmaker, historian, writer, but putting words to paper is the most satisfying. After years of moving around the US, Ive settled in the desert of New Mexico, a far cry from my birthplace in Louisiana. You never know where life will go.
Executive DirectorJohn Martinez
Born and raised in Grants, John has served on the Cibola Arts Council board since 2023. He is a Vietnam veteran who began a career in clothing manufacturing after relocating to Dallas, Texas. After retiring, John moved back to Grants, where he co-owned a small consignment gallery for eight years. He volunteers on various boards, including Roberta’s Place, Grants Main Street, Casa San Jose, and the Lodgers Tax Advisory Board.

I'm Joel Small, and a student at Grants High. I've spent much of my life interacting with media through theatre programs and broadcasting classes. Over the years I have become passionate about the arts, and I hope my position as a board member of the Cibola Arts Gallery can help spread the influence of art across the city.

Born and raised in Grants, Chase brings a deep love for his hometown and a passion for community building. He is the current Grand Knight and Community Director of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3683 and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Grants MainStreet Project. "I've always had a passion for creating and participating in events that bring the community together, and I'm excited to be part of a team of like-minded individuals."

Kimberly is a student and artist who was born and raised in Cibola County, NM. She’s been the administrative assistant at the Double 6 Gallery since January 2025. As the Arts Council prepares the gallery for a new look and direction, you may see her helping with painting the walls, setting up events, or co‑hosting art camps.
Board MemberRodney King Lisondra
Rodney, an artist and educator in Grants, New Mexico, is a national leader in art education. A 2025 NAEA School for Art Leaders member and nominee for NAEA Elementary Division Director, he connects local work to national advocacy. He chairs the NMAEA Special Populations Interest Group, promoting inclusive practice, and champions STEAM and Choice-Based Learning to build students’ creative identities.
Board MemberAudrey Jacquez
Audrey has been a board member since 2025. She is an involved member of the community and also serves on the board of Grants Mainstreet Project. She has lived in Grants since the early 2000s and has fallen in love with the community.
Board MemberRoger Siegmann
60+ years in Grants; 42 years in local mines. Enjoys vintage cars and camp trailers, camping, fishing, acrylic painting, children’s community art, and cruising Route 66. Has served on boards of local museums and organizations over the years.
